Overview

A diversified media, entertainment, and retail conglomerate is seeking a Finance Director to lead and oversee finance and accounting operations across multiple business units in North America. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting oversight, budgeting, strategic planning, and internal control management. The Finance Director will work closely with executive leadership and global headquarters to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and alignment with corporate financial objectives.


Description

A diversified media, entertainment, and retail conglomerate is seeking a Finance Director to lead and oversee finance and accounting operations across multiple business units in North America. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting oversight, budgeting, strategic planning, and internal control management.

The Finance Director will work closely with executive leadership and global headquarters to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and alignment with corporate financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all finance and accounting operations across multiple business entities within the organization.
  • Prepare and review standalone and consolidated financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and management narratives.
  • Manage full accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, expense reporting, cost accounting, accruals, settlements, inventory reconciliation, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
  • Prepare consolidated financial reports and packages for executive leadership, external auditors, and global headquarters.
  • Ensure financial statements and transactions are prepared in compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and mid-term financial plans while providing financial insights to support business strategy.
  • Oversee retail finance operations including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold analysis, margin analysis, vendor accounting, logistics accounting, and sales reporting across retail and e-commerce channels.
  • Design and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Manage tax compliance including quarterly and annual filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Review general ledger activities, intercompany transactions, and reconciliation processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies across finance and accounting processes.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and business planning.

  • 売掛金、買掛金、キャッシュ管理、経費精算、原価計算、在庫管理、仕訳、銀行照合など会計業務全般の管理

  • 月次・四半期・年次決算の統括

  • 経営陣、外部監査法人、海外本社向け財務報告資料の作成

  • 財務諸表が 米国会計基準（US GAAP） 等に準拠していることの確認

  • 年次予算策定、予測、事業計画の作成および経営陣への財務アドバイス

  • リテール事業に関する財務管理（在庫評価、売上原価、利益率分析、物流・仕入会計、EC売上分析など）

  • 会計ポリシー、内部統制、業務プロセスの設計および改善

  • 税務申告およびコンプライアンス対応の管理

  • 総勘定元帳、勘定照合、インターカンパニー取引のレビュー

  • 財務業務プロセスの改善および効率化

  • 経営戦略を支援する財務モデルおよび分析の作成

応募資格

  • 会計、財務、経営学など関連分野の 学士号

  • 会計・財務分野で8年以上の実務経験

  • CPAまたは同等資格 歓迎

  • US GAAP または IFRS の知識

  • 予算管理、財務分析、原価管理の経験

  • ERPシステム（Microsoft Dynamics GP等）使用経験 歓迎

  • Excel上級スキル

  • 高い分析力、組織力、細部への注意力

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 8+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial analysis
  • Experience working in media, publishing, entertainment, consumer products, or retail industries is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar platforms)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multinational corporate environment
  • Japanese language proficiency preferred
