A well-established U.S. food manufacturer specializing in traditional Japanese cuisine products is seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative II. This is a dynamic and rewarding position that requires strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for food sales and customer engagement. Conversational Japanese skills are helpful.
Position Summary
The Outside Sales Representative II will be responsible for managing sales and growth within an assigned region, identifying new opportunities, and expanding business through strategic planning and customer relationship management. This role requires the ability to travel frequently and drive business initiatives that support profitability and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow customer accounts in an assigned territory
Identify new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve monthly and quarterly targets
Deliver product presentations, tastings, and demos to prospective and current clients
Attend industry trade shows and events to uncover potential opportunities
Contribute to the development of long- and short-term sales and marketing plans
Negotiate pricing and contracts while maintaining a customer-first approach
Respond promptly to customer concerns and escalate potential issues to management
Improve revenue and cash flow through pricing, inventory, and AR oversight
Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify areas for expansion
Travel 50% or more as required
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Work Locations
One position is based in the New York/New Jersey area (commuting distance required)

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of high-volume sales experience in the food industry
- Proven background in business development and account management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to analyze data and market trends to support decision-making
- Comfortable with frequent travel and managing a regional client base
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and within a team
