A major international airline is seeking a Senior Associate – Airport Flight Operations to coordinate flight operations and ensure flight safety, economical operations, and passenger comfort. This position also assists in administrative and load control functions and supports both regular and irregular operations in compliance with all relevant regulations. Primary Job Functions:
1) Coordinates Flight Operations
Assist Supervisors and Managers in coordinating all flight activities and ensuring flight safety.
Review and file flight plans; brief crews on flight plans, routings, weather conditions, and NOTAMs.
Coordinate with airline personnel and contractors responsible for fueling, aircraft maintenance, load instructions, and weight & balance.
Monitor meteorology reports and help adjust flight plans accordingly.
Ensure compliance with FAA and airline weather operation regulations.
Liaise with ATC, FAA, and JCAB to ensure operations meet all regulatory and airport requirements.
Coordinate emergency plans and ensure confidentiality of all flight planning and security information.
Maintain technical manuals including ATC and weather-related materials.
2) Performs Administrative Duties
File and maintain documents accurately and assist in correspondence creation.
Report to the airline’s Operations Management Center in Tokyo for crew-related issues, including replacements due to illness and irregular operations.
Coordinate crew accommodations and transportation, and adjust logistics as needed during disruptions.
Act as a point of contact for daily operations and keep local teams updated on changes or irregularities.
3) Coordinates Load Control
Assist with load control operations including creating and reviewing loading instructions and weight & balance sheets.
Coordinate with cargo teams and operations staff.
Maintain up-to-date technical manuals, including those for Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Secondary Job Functions:
Perform general administrative tasks, including covering for other staff, filing, report preparation, and invoice review.
Keep management informed of any issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisors or Managers.
Common Job Functions:

Stay current with industry standards and company procedures through workshops, reading, and networking.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, talk, and listen.
May need to stand, walk, use hands, and occasionally kneel or crouch.
Must be able to read on-screen data and adjust visual focus as needed.
Occasionally lift/move objects up to 20 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Work environment ranges from moderate to high noise levels (airport/business office setting).
Flexibility to work beyond regular hours is required.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Flight operations and/or load control experience preferred.
Previous work in an airline or flight operations service company preferred.
Education:
High school diploma required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
Language:
English fluency required (spoken and written).
Japanese proficiency preferred but not required.
Mathematics:
Basic algebra and ability to calculate figures such as percentages and interest.
Other Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
FAA or JCAB Dispatcher License not required.
Must be willing to work various shifts including holidays.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa support).
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
