We are retained by a financial company to search for a highly motivated Equity Analyst to join their investment team focused on managing a long-only equity portfolio. The Analyst will work in close collaboration with the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager, generating and presenting actionable investment ideas based on rigorous bottom-up research.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary, or Healthcare sectors—though strong candidates with experience in other sectors will also be considered. This role requires a sharp analytical mind, the ability to develop and articulate investment theses, and a strong understanding of financial modeling and equity valuation.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth industry analysis and bottom-up fundamental research on public companies within assigned sectors (e.g., Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary, Healthcare).
Build and maintain sector-specific portfolios, providing detailed performance analysis, benchmarking, and attribution reporting.
Identify undervalued companies with strong risk-adjusted return potential and make clear buy/sell recommendations.
Prepare and deliver concise investment reports, research notes, and thematic write-ups to the CIO and broader investment team.
Monitor relevant industry and macroeconomic trends, earnings reports, and breaking news to assess implications on portfolio holdings.
Attend industry conferences, earnings calls, and internal investment committee meetings to stay current and share insights.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by the CIO, Portfolio Manager, or other senior investment team members.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required, ideally in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
Strong grasp of accounting, financial statements, and valuation techniques
2–5 years of experience in equity research, investment management, or a similar analytical role preferred
Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under minimal supervision
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, CapIQ)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience covering Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary, or Healthcare sectors
CFA designation or active candidacy is a plus
Familiarity with portfolio attribution analysis and risk metrics
Work Style: Onsite/ Midtown Manhattan
