Sales Manager / Bilingual Japanese

Overview

Primary responsibility is to drive sales of inorganic chemicals, specifically focusing on raw material procurement and manufacturing for refractory materials and lithium-ion battery components. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth international and domestic shipments by coordinating shipping schedules, maximizing customer service, and optimizing economic efficiency. Bilingual Japanese communication is a must.


Description

Business Development:

Identify and generate new business opportunities.

Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and prepare relevant marketing materials.

 

Customer and Supplier Relationship Management:

Visit customers to understand their current needs, future product plans, and address any issues they may have.

Establish and cultivate relationships with Chinese and Japanese suppliers, obtaining information about their company, products, export capacity, and other relevant details.

 

Product Knowledge:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's products, with a particular focus on refractory materials and raw materials for lithium-ion batteries.

 

Pricing and Estimation:

Calculate pricing and create accurate estimates for customers.

 

Logistics:

Engage in logistical duties to gain insights into the shipping process and contribute to efficient supply chain management.

Requirements

Qualities:

 

Proactive, self-motivated, and independent.

Enjoys sales and marketing activities.

 

 

Work Details:

 

FLSA Status: Exempt position.

Work Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for additional hours due to international engagements.

 

Business Travel: Approximately 1 to 2 times a week for U.S. trips and once every 2 to 3 months for overseas trips.

 

Visa Sponsorship: Not provided.



Native-level proficiency in both English and Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing).

3 to 5 years of experience in sales and international logistics, with a preference for experience in a Japanese-style trading company (Shosha).
