Overview

A Japanese manufacturing company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Irving, TX. This position is responsible for managing many aspects of accounting-related duties such as the accounts receivable functions, the PCFs system, and customer and sales team inquiries.


Description

I.General Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing many aspects of accounting-related duties for the Company and for making recommendations to Senior management.

II.Essential Job Functions
Handles Accounts Receivable Functions
  • by verifying and processing sales invoices
  • by entering data on invoices and ensuring proper coding on documents
  • by working with collections personnel to verify status of delinquent accounts and solicit payments on overdue accounts
  • by releasing invoices, recording payments and deductions
  • by monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • by Posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions and entering them into accounting software
  • by Making copies of checks and depositing payments
  • by Verifying validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers
  • by resolving collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line
Handling PCFs and Organizing Files
  • by maintaining good records of PCF system
  • by labeling and filing payments and maintaining records
  • by creating logs for issues
  • by contacting Sales Team for PCF
Handles Customer and Sale Team Inquiries
  • by answering inquires form customers and employees
  • by conducting credit checks on all customers, establish and manage limits
  • by communicating with customers about billing discrepancies and questions

Physical Requirements
  • This position requires an ability to regularly talk and/or hear.
  • The Staff Member is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The Staff Member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The Staff Member may occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of at least 20 pounds.
  • This position requires an ability to read and analyze written information on a computer terminal.
  • In addition, it requires vision abilities such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate (i.e. working in a business office with computers, printers, phones, etc., and occasionally at the Tea Shop and Restaurant.)
  • The Staff Member is required to work overtime when needed.

Experience / Minimum Qualifications Needed
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations in English.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Staff, customers, and the general public in English.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Abilities
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Other Required Skills
  • Must be tactful, mature and flexible.
  • Must have the ability to review, assess and understand technical documents, drawings and other documents with no advance exposure and then engage in discussions internally and with customers.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and utilize legal/financial documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
  • Must be able to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Accounting experience is necessary.
